Just Jules. And Nini. And family. And the kitchen table.

Once a month, a parcel goes out from us by mail — to people we know, and to people we have never met. What our Keepers get inside: the next chapters of a novel still being written, a personal letter from Jules, notes from Jules or Nini about what really happened — what's true, what's almost true, what we made up — and a few small things we couldn't resist tucking in. It's a literary correspondence, by hand, by mail, every month, from a P.O. Box in Cumberland, Maine.

If you want the longer version, read Jules's letter →. It's two pages. It says everything.

Hi from Maine

Jules

Julene Gervais. The writer. Maine-based, currently behind the wheel of most of the words. Television producer by day — Emmy-nominated host of Greenlight Maine, a show about people building things from scratch. President's Circle account representative during the day. Mother to Juney and two sons. Daughter to Nini. Writes the novel. Then calls Nini and reads it out loud. If Nini laughs, it stays.

Hello from Massachusettes

Nini

Judy. The editor, the co-author, and the reason any of it has the rhythm it does. Massachusetts-based, in Woburn. Retired special education teacher. Co-founded an all-women's Lions Club over thirty years ago. Has opinions about every sentence. Voices them. Usually correctly.

The Practice

Once a month, a parcel goes out by mail. Inside: the next chapters of the novel still being written, a personal letter from Jules, notes from Nini about the real memories that inspired the fiction, and a few small things we couldn't resist tucking in. Tea. Art. Whatever the month asked for.

Twelve dollars a month. Lifetime founder's rate available now.

We would be honored to include you...
